Restaurant Manager

We are looking for the right candidate who will have the patience, personality and perseverance to thrive in this role.

Duties required

  • Coordinate daily restaurant management operations
  • Delivering superior food and beverage service and maximising customer satisfaction
  • Monitor staff and customer to assure safety standards are met
  • Resolve customer complaints around food quality and service
  • Recruit, hire and oversee training of new and existing staff
  • Schedule work hours for servers and kitchen staff
  • Monitor food preparation and methods to ensure hygiene standards
  • Multi-tasking various front-of-house duties
  • Oversee planned catering events and weddings
  • Liaising with Head Chef regarding restaurant specials and staffing
  • Communicate order details to the kitchen staff
  • Prepare and arrange tables settings
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a Restaurant Manager, Hospitality Supervisor or similar role
  • Proven customer service experience as a manager
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software
  • Experience with cash register and ordering information – POS systems
  • Must hold RSA
  • Experience in planned catering events and weddings
  • Attentiveness and patience for customers
  • Clean & professional presentation
  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills with ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
  • Active listening and effective communication skills
  • Flexibility to work in changing shifts/ rosters
  • Positive personality

We are seeking an energetic café all-rounder to join the team at our vibrant Ugly Mug Kiosk located within the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens, MOUNT TOMAH

Situated in the heart of the Botanic Gardens, this is great opportunity for someone looking to build on their existing hospitality experience and have a work life balance with only working 4 days.

Main Duties

  • Outstanding customer service to all customers
  • Food & beverage preparation and service in a timely/efficient manner
  • Small catering order
  • General cleaning duties as needed
  • Cash handling tasks including taking payments, balancing till, banking etc.

Required Skills andExperience

  • 2 years’ experience within an established fast paced café/restaurant
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to think on your feet and solve problems with a smile
  • Barista skills and experience preferred

Must be available on weekdays and weekends to work a flexible roster of approx. 30/ 40 hours per week.
